ANNUAL FLOWERS

Annual flowers must be replaced after each season, but they put on the best show of continuous color.

Turf Managers installs two rotations of annual flowers a year:

SPRING INSTALLATION–  A large variety of summer flower types and colors are available to be installed in May. Once installed, summer annuals  will bloom continuously until they are damaged by frost in the fall (usually in October here in middle Tennessee). We then remove them and install pansies.

FALL INSTALLATION– Pansies are the only annual flower that will live through the winter in the Nashville area.  These flowers are planted in October, and will bloom on and off through the winter, depending on the severity of the weather. Once the weather improves in spring, pansies will perk back up and bloom beautifully until the heat of summer causes their decline. We then remove them and install summer flowers.

BULBS

Daffodil and Tulip bulbs are installed in the fall/early winter so that they will emerge and bloom in the spring. They are often planted as part of an overall design with pansies. The daffodils that we choose are perennial and will multiply over time, giving you years of enjoyment. Tulip bulbs are treated as annuals since they do not return reliably the following year.

PERENNIAL FLOWERS

Perennial flowers do not have to be replaced each year because they will live through our winters, but some bloom for only about 3 weeks and then stop until the next year. Choosing perennials that will pop up and bloom at different times of the spring, summer, fall (and even winter!) will  help give you a succession of color. We have the expertise to help you decide what flower combinations are best for you, and to get them installed correctly.

FLOWER CARE

Once your flowers are installed, let us keep your beds weed free and in good shape with our 2x month weeding service– Detail Maintenance. Our Detail Maintenance staff will deadhead and clean-up perennials, deadhead roses, and weed all your landscape and flower beds throughout the season.
