Lawndry Lines – November 2016

Important Tips Due To Lack Of Rain

  1. Plants are still drying out.
  2. If your lawn was aerated and seeded, DO NOT shut down your irrigation system until we start seeing a wet weather pattern. You turf takes up a lot of water so it is essential to make sure that the soil has a good amount of moisture in it.
  3. If you have winterized your irrigation system you may need to water with a hose and sprinkler until rains come.
  4. Your irrigation will not freeze if we get a brief cold snap. It doesn’t even look like we will even be near the 30s until the third or fourth week of November.
  5. Leave are starting to fall slowly due to dry conditions, so don’t be alarmed if your usually beautiful fall foliage just turns brown and falls off. Trees will go into survival mode and dump their leaves to conserve water and sugars.
  6. Now is the time to pay special attention to newly planted trees, shrubs, and flowers so they don’t dry out. Take the time to monitor your plants.
