Remember those Spring rains that we got earlier this Spring????
FORGET ABOUT IT!
All of the rain that we had earlier this Spring is LONG Gone and we are HOT and DRY. The hot temps, very windy conditions and lack of rain has dried everything completely out. So, if you have irrigation, run it a lot especially in the turf areas and on annual flowers (remember that early morning is the best time to water). Established landscapes, installed 4 years ago or before will require less water. Usually there is one plant in the landscape that will wilt a bit more than the others when dry. Let it be your moisture indicator. Of course, if the ground is dry and cracked you will need to water.
HERE’S THE DEAL…
In ground irrigation is designed to supplement rain fall. So, if you have a landscape or any plants that have been installed in the past three years you WILL NEED TO HAND WATER THOSE PLANTS until we get substantial rain. Keep that irrigation running but stay focused on your plants.
